McKinsey has done a study on edge computing and identified over 100 use cases. And they believed edge computing can generate more than $200 billion in value for hardware companies in the next five years. (See Figure 2.) From the carriers perspective, edge computing opens up an entirely new range of possibilities. With edge computing, the carriers can create new revenue streams by designing and offering new services.
