After I went back to my hotel, out of curiosity, I did a search for “Writer’s Club and Wine Bar.” Looks like this might be the only writer’s club and wine bar in the whole world. It was created by Bob Tilley and his wife Tong. Bob is a former foreign correspondent for The Daily Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph.
It is also known as the ‘’city’s unofficial press club’’, this place is host to many people interested in and related to the media. There are often travel writers propping up the bar. But you don’t have to be a member of the press or media though to enjoy the comfortable setting of this place. This bar and restaurant are popular with ex-pats, and travelers looking for a more low-key drinking experience, with wine by the glass.
